Universal Modder
An open-source framework that lets AI coding agents decompile, modify, and test PC game mods, with verified support for 53+ games and 12 engine playbooks.
Universal Modder is an open-source framework that helps AI coding agents create mods for PC games. It provides a defined workflow: inspect the target engine, read the game's code, generate assets, run automated in-game tests, and leave field notes for the next session. The project ships verified field notes for more than 53 games, including GTA V, Minecraft, Halo 3, Terraria, and Hades II, together with 12 engine playbooks covering common modding tasks. Asset generation is handled through fal, and a save-file backup step runs before any modification. The whole pipeline is free and open source. The project website includes an online interactive simulator and a showcase of community-made mods.
